Who wrote the New Testament?

A overview of the New Testament

Looking for who wrote the New Testament? Answer this and more questions in this overview of the New Testament.

The New Testament refers to the second half of the English Bible, the first being the Old Testament .

New Testament literally means "the New Covenant."

While the Old Testament books covers the first 66 books of the Bible, the New Testament contains the remaining 27 books.

When a person reads through the New Testament they will quickly find out that its message is really simple. In fact it focuses on two areas.

    1. The Person (Jesus Christ) who gave Himself as a sacrifice for sins, and...

    2. The People (the church) who received this sacrifice which can cover all sins.

The New Testament can be divided into three categories. First is the Gospels which introduce the Savior.

Next is the Acts of the Apostles in which the Apostles spread the Good news of Jesus Christ.

Then there are the Letters (also known as Epistles) which describe blessings that come from salvation.

Finally there is the Revelation which previews what will happen to mankind after their time on earth is complete.

Below is a look at each of these categories as well as links to the books that belong in each.
