Genesis Home of the Creation Story
An Overview of the Book which contains the creation story - Genesis. The word Genesis means origins or beginnings. The Book of Genesis can be divided into two sections. The first being the Beginning of the Earth. This is where we find the creation story. The second section is the Beginning of God's Redemptive Plan. Each section has it's own plot as well as main Characters. Authorship Most feel that Moses wrote this book because of the internal evidence stated in the Pentateuch. However, there are some who feel that this evidence is not sufficient. Whatever the case, it was the Holy Spirit who led the author in recounting the origins of the world and man.
