Biblical Christian Marriage Advice
Martin Luther once gave some great Christian Marriage Advice. He said... "Let the wife make her husband glad to come home, and let him make her sorry to see him leave." The following is an Outline that I developed for Pre-Marital Counseling. It lays out what God's ideal is for Christian Marriage.
Marriage is God Ordained
1. His purpose for marriagea. Intimacy (Gen 2:18-25) b. Procreation (Gen 1:28, 9:1) c. Happiness (Gen 2:18)
2. His procedure for marriage (Gen 2:24) a. To leave (to cut he apron strings in a parent honoring way) b. To Cleave (to be glued together - start a new family c. To become one (Emotionally, Spiritually, Intellectually, Sexually)
Marriage is for Life
1. It is a covenant between two people in the sight of God (Gen 2:24, Mal 2:14, Matt 19:4-6)2. God hates divorce (Mal 2:16)
Marriage is not to be unequally yoked (2 Cor. 6:14)
1. Believers to marry only believers2. Believers not to marry unbelievers
